books.

read this book.
it's sad and profoundly moving. it's unexpected and beautifully written.

i was wrapped up in the wonder of what was coming next in a way i've never experienced. one night when i was reading with less than 20 pages left, i was so overcome with emotion and shock i literally threw the book across the room, took a breath, closed my eyes and went to sleep. it will make you think about the world, where you belong and your role as a human being. it will make you think about strangers and the imperfect marriage of compassion and ignorance, courage and cowardice and trust and betrayal. a complex combination that exists in a very real way in the world outside our self-induced bubble.

 . . . .

now I'm reading True Colors...by Kristin Hannah
who also wrote Firefly Lane
...the book that brought me out of a reading slump a few months ago.
total easy reads. complete lush and drama filled stories.
but filled with characters i can't get enough of. a delightful escape.
which is exactly why i read, afterall.
. . . . .

what are you reading? any good recommendations?
