unplugged

abbey road studios
circa 1972
where only the rockiest of rockstars
an baddest of badasses play

...meet sally

and sam...

...charlie

and skipper...

bringing songs to life

and life to songs

intertwined with grins & air guitars...

spirits, contemplation & yo yo's...
...and a friendly game of "pin the tail on Slovakia", of course.

. . . . . . . . .
i'll never be too old for a game of pretend.
pretend & wonder. dreams & delight.
life would be bland without them. all of them.
.
maybe we were in a modest row house
in the heart of louisville, ky
just five days ago.
.
and maybe that's my favorite brother
and his brilliant roommate, evan.
maybe those glasses don't really make me invisible
and that girl.
yep, sally...she's just a best friend.
.
but that night will forever be referred to as "abbey road"
and i might address josh as "sam" at the next family function
and only he and i will chuckle.
.
and if i'm lucky,
they'll play a good excerpt of our 5 hour recording
at my funeral.
it'd be a helluva tribute,
that's for sure.
.
but the four of us.
we were rockstars
on that friday night.
lovin' life
unplugged.
